Artist's Comments

The dragon itself (lineart) turned out way too standard looking for me.
This is done on a bad day... the day a friend of mine looked over my shoulder telling me how everything should be and look like too be on the hood of his car.
The only things I could unleash my creativity on were...well... sadly only the CG part of it. :/

This part I absolutely love though.
That piece of cloud on the left side along his wing somehow still fills me with joy when I look at it.
It's the first time I spend time concentrating on clouds and colortweaking, and somehow all the days of effort spend to achieve that realistic cloud-look can be found in that pilar of pink and blue... as if I achieved a glimpse of perfectionism in there...
Offcourse it's just a damn cloud, but it gives my dream hope that one day I, myself, will maybe create a piece of fantasyart that's perfect in my own eyes...

So here is to all the dreamers out there!
Enjoy

Originality does not come from others. It comes from yourself.

I am atheist; not Christian. I have my own mind and beliefs, and you have yours. I'd appreciate it if you didn't shove your religion down my throat.

The dragon honestly looks more like a toy figurine. Well, that could explain it since it is three-dimensional after all. Though the picture could of been a bit more blended together. Such as the atmosphere. It appears like a completely different piece of art as it surrounds the dragon. The proportions are simply magnificent along with the color.

And to reply to your comment, I have yet to find someone to "overdone" their work. In this case, the different objects need to mix together better. Either way, it is a nicely executed masterpiece.

More glow on the dragon as the lightning behind it strikes, use more then 1 color on mountains, add some glow from the lava, give more perspective and movement/twirl in the upper body part... and those claws could be spread wide ready to grab you... actually the whole dragon wouldve looked better in the piece with bigger perspective flying to/attacking the viewer. (if i interpeted your comment right there ;p)
This piece has grown pretty old by now so Ive had the chance (and many others as well *hughs all deviants^^*) to go over this piece for quite a while now and many things i wouldve done over if i could find the will to work on it again.
Guess I can still use the background after some touching up to fit in another dragon... one made to fit in this piece rather then hopelesly trying to fit in and create an eyestunning background around a kinda static seperate linedrawing with no connection once or ever. (you were totally right on that point as well again^^')
So thanks for your comments on this and your critique eye!
I cant live without and Im sure to be needing it on my newer pieces to evolve even more and make things a bigger whole.

Sweet hugh from me here^.-

I think you are a great drawer! No matter what you say. You will always be a great drawer. I loved your dragon. So don't never stop trying.
